Hello!
My name is Jorge Martinez. I have been teaching percussion for ten years. I taught at Edinburg ISD for
seven years and currently have been at Donna ISD for three years. I am the percussion instructor and teach
6th-12th graders. My favorite part of band is the marching season and the winter drumline season. In
the high school drumline, there are 32 students which are all great. Before I taught
percussion, I was in a band called Fobia and toured all over Mexico and Latin America. This period of time
when I traveled and toured with the band has been my favorite part of life.
I am going to be married next March to a wonderful girl from Wisconsin! I love her very much
and she is adapting to my crazy gig schedules. She works as a music educator and plays the oboe.
My favorite sport is soccer. I love to watch the English Premier League and,
of course, the Mexican League where my favorite team is America.
